Because with this one-time investment, the license is purchased at a remarkable discount. In addition, customers get all the updates and technical support from Vembu at annual maintenance cost. Vembu’s Perpetual License entitles the customer to use the software indefinitely. Customers buy a year of Technical support and Product Updates, which is included in the Perpetual license. After one year the maintenance period expires. The product continues to work. But due to expired maintenance, receives no further support and software updates. As a result, the customer will need to purchase a new Support and Upgrade plan at that time.
